IOLS / BALOO Training & Trail to First Class
The Ventura County Council Presents IOLS/BALOO, a training for any & all Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster. This training is required to be a fully trained leader in Scouting America. Any adult that is registered with Scouting America and has current SYT is eligible to take this course. It is not required to be a Scoutmaster or Asst. Scoutmaster to attend.
Date: March 28-29, 2026 Starting at 8am, check in on Saturday, ends Sunday 11am

Overnight Camping Details: Participants should bring personal camping gear, including tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, pillow, boots, rain gear, extra clothing, camp chair, flashlight, personal hygiene items, medications, water bottle, mess kit, cup or thermos.
Saturday lunch, dinner, cracker barrel and Sunday Breakfast are included.

Course Details: Please wear your Scout Leader uniform, if you have one. Be prepared to learn the Patrol method, Scout, Tenderfoot, 2nd Class & 1st Class skills, and have FUN. You will be part of a Scouts BSA Patrol, with a Patrol Leader, learn the basics of cooking, camping, tying knots, flag etiquette, planning campfires and outdoor ceremonies, fire and equipment safety, outdoor ethics, axe yard, duty to God and MORE! Bring pen/pencil, paper/notebook, songs, skits and a smile! Note: You must attend the entire IOLS training, including the overnight camping to receive your training certificate.
